As of 11:26am today, we switched over to our new infrastructure running the latest and greatest. The net result for you, our clients and customers is:
- Faster load times for all pages
- Fewer timeouts at poor Internet connections (requires less offline use)
- More redundancies (with our servers load-balanced in multiple data centres)
We experienced a few minor outages prior to the change-over, and for that we sincerely apologize.
We also have a code-change-freeze (meaning no new features will be launched for six days during Feb 22-28) to ensure that the new infrastructure is without hiccup.
Thank you for your continued business – we look forward to great new feature launches this week.
TimeWellScheduled selected as a Preferred Vendor for Time and Attendance for Canadian Tire Retail StoresMonday, October 10th, 2011
We are thrilled that after a pilot period of TimeWellScheduled being in use at a number of Canadian Tire Retailers, we have been selected as a Preferred Vendor, meaning that our product has been evaluated thoroughly, compared against a number of competitors, and when any Canadian Tire Dealer searches out a Time and Attendance solution for his or her store, TimeWellScheduled is recommended by the Canadian Tire Dealer’s Association. We appreciate this recognition and are pleased to have Canadian Tire as our newest client.
We worked hard the last few weeks to reduce the load times on most pages. You will now notice an improvement loading schedules, approving timecards or running reports.
New York City decided to build their own time and attendance called CityTime with an original budget of $68million (the cost of the project ballooned to over $700 million) .
At $2/employee/month, NYC could have used our product for 116 years spending that amount of money (and that’s if they paid up front, we charge monthly).
This (YouTube) video link is to a prominent and well-respected podcast on the topic of security, as its name suggests: SecurityNow!
Recently there was a widely publicized RSA security breach and their formal Open Letter describing very little here:
Steve Gibson assesses the above communication piece as well as other news and has an excellent summary on his blog here:
Nerds On Site standardized to the Yubikey (www.yubico.com) as a two-factor authentication device, and we’re obviously pleased to share that Yubico does not suffer from the same single point of weakness as RSA did.
No need to take our word for it, but check out the Yubikey and consider it for your two-factor authentication for punch-in and punch-out processes in environments where appropriate.

I had an excellent demo today from Mark Kempe on the TimeWellScheduled software for my largest NerdCare client.
The demo was very fast paced, and didn’t waste their time, which they were very pleased with.
It showed them everything they needed to know, and Mark answered all of their questions.
It looks like he can customize the program to give them exactly what they need to save them MANY man hours each week!!!!
When the demo was done, they asked Mark if he could write them a dispatch program as they were very impressed. (They have just recently purchased dispatch software for around $50k for the hardware and sofwtare solution).
That has started the discussion of the possibility of My Business OS in the near future.
Great job Mark, and a great looking and very useful piece of software!
TimeWellScheduled is a product from Nerds On Site that uses cloud-based technology to provide an affordable and easy way to manage and track employee hours, time off, breaks, shifts, and much more.
There is no hardware or software to install. Business owners can simply log into the TimeWellScheduled website via computer or mobile device and access their company’s customized information.
The days of confusing shift swaps, sticky notes, and requests for time off are a thing of the past. Managers and employees can log into the system to request and make changes at any time, which reduces miscommunication and frustration.
All communication takes place of a bank-grade secure connection, so privacy and security are guaranteed.
Managers can monitor employee breaks down to the minute. If an employee is late returning to his or her shift, the system asks them why, and lets their manager know, which forces them to be punctual in the future.
There are many advantages to switching your business to TimeWellScheduled. You can find more information on our website!
