Restricting access based on cookies

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

Originally, we restricted access of the punch in/out/meal/break buttons to an IP. For most businesses, this would work because they have a a static IP that never changes.

However, some business don’t have access to a static IP, so we’ve launched an enhancement to block access using cookies. To set this up, it’s a very simple process – just select METHOD 2 and click the SETUP button. That’s all you need to do. One note of caution – if you have your browser to clear cookies each day, you will need to turn this off otherwise you will loose the cookie that was added.

Setting up Access Restrictions

Monday, August 1st, 2011

It is very important to setup access restrictions to avoid employees from punching in/out from home. Setting up access restrictions is very easy. From any computer within your businesses network, go to ‘Manage My Business’ and select ‘Access Restrictions’.

Your businesses IP will be shown in green and add a recognizable label in the edit field. This is telling our system that punch in/out is ONLY available from this IP. You can setup multiple locations too if you like, if you have multiple locations. Just follow the same process at each location.

Once you’ve clicked GO, you will see that you’ve registered your IP and you’re all set.
