Employees normally have a 60 minute lunch, but one employee had 30 minutes in their timecard, why is this?Saturday, March 31st, 2012
When an employee is set to ‘scheduled and must check in/out’, you have the option to set them also to ‘can check in/out on days without a schedule’. When you do this, you must enter their default break and meal breaks. The reason for this is that the system has no way of knowing, since they are not scheduled, how long they will be working. Because of this, we don’t know how much time to allocate based on the setup. So you must specify what they are allowed.
First, make sure you have your employee status setup, go to MANAGE MY BUSINESS->MANAGE EMPLOYEE STATUS and add as many status as you need, typical ones are ‘No longer employeed’ and ‘Leave of absence’.
Second, in the employee profile, in the ‘General’ section, there is a Status section, set this to the new status. Note that only Active employees can punch in and out, and show up in scheduling and timecards.
Each Saturday, the upcoming weeks schedule will now be emailed to each employee so they have a copy of when they will work. Here is a sample:
From the home page, click “View My Schedule” along the bottom menu.
On this page, you will be able to view your schedule for the current month. This schedule will indicate the department you will be working in, as well as the times.
You can also review any requests that have been approved or pending. As well, you will be able to see any personal times that you are unavailable to work, that has been approved by management.
There are two ways to do this:
Make sure you setup your access restrictions. When these are setup, they will only show the punch in buttons for the registered IPs. You can see how to set these up here.
On the MANAGE MY BUSINESS page, there is an ‘Employee URL’. This URL should be given to employees to log in from home. It automatically hides the punch in buttons, regardless if access restrictions are in place.
Under MANAGE MY BUSINESS, you will see a link that is your companies ‘Employee URL’. Give this URL to your employees so they can log in from home and check their schedules or request time off. Don’t worry though, they can’t punch in or out.
Yesterday we launched ‘Grouping By Employees’ for scheduling. This feature allows you to create a group picking specific employees that will show up in the scheduling ‘Department’ list. This is useful if you want to schedule all department managers on one screen.
